It is so exciting to see artists evolve their special relationship to their artform. Here is what Harleen has to say about her love for dance.
“Dance…it just happened to me..or rather I should say, it’s happening to me. I discovered some untraveled spaces, it gave me a new way to live, a new way to think, a new way to feel who I am. It makes me forget the outside world…it develops me, gives me growth, challenges my personality everyday, physically and emotionally. It makes me excited, it makes me fight, makes me confident..it never ceases to surprise me. In Ashley sir’s words ‘Dance is absolute stillness in absolute motion’…you know you really danced it when the music, your body and your soul are in perfect harmony! It exposes you! ‘Country of Bodies’ is one of its kind. It encapsulates much more than just physical movements. We had to come out of our comfort zone and get into the characters we were playing in the film…Dancers had to become actors and feel what the character was feeling..’Bonds’ specifically demanded more emotional involvement and this created a strong connection between me and my co-dancer Naomi which still lasts.”
